Kiwanis is a fellowship united in service to improve the
lives of children in our community and throughout the world. Outer Banks Kiwanis
Club’s community service projects focus on the health and education of children
in Dare County. We raise funds to provide college scholarships for local
students, and for research to accelerate the cures for cancer in children. The
club hosts the Nags Head Woods 5K, as well as the 1-Mile Family Fun Run every
second Saturday in May. The Objectives of Kiwanis • To give
primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than the material values of life
• To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships
• To promote the adoption and application of higher social, business and
professional standards • To develop by precept and example a more
intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship • To provide through
Kiwanis Clubs a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render
altruistic service and to build better communities • To cooperate in
creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make
possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and good will
Club Meetings We meet at noon on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays of each month at
Western Sizzlin' Steak House in Kill Devil Hills. Our meetings, which include breakfast, often feature guest
speakers and presentations on topics of interest to club members and the general
public. In the past, presentations have been given by local community and
business leaders, representatives from regional attractions, environmental
organizations, educational institutions, and many others. See our
Calendar for
